With the upcoming LWR benefit concert, Philip has been practicing songs, as he plans to sing a song and share his testimony in brief. I told him the story of "His Eye is on the Sparrow," and we decided to learn it. Santhosh told him the story when he first learned of our pregnancy with Philip, twelve years ago. He was preparing to leave for Atlanta with the church youth group for a music event. I had just confirmed the pregnancy and told Santhosh our good news. As he was leaving, I went to the piano to play the song, "His eye is on the sparrow." He asked why I was playing it, and my response was, "I'm singing to the baby."
Philip smiled with that story. Earlier this week, he told me how poorly he had done on his recent math test at school. I tried to encourage him. Then he said, "When I saw my grade, mom, I just kept thinking of that song "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me." I asked him how did that make you feel? His response was "I know God is with me, no matter what."
My question to myself was, "why don't I try this at work?" We need to believe it, God has promised He will never leave us or forsake us.
God bless you all!
